AS a motorist, I believed that the flashing lights on both sides of a motor vehicle, front and rear, were an excellent innovation as a hazard warning in case of breakdown.
Now I see it is quite common to see private vehicles parked on double yellow lines, causing a hazard in themselves, with hazard light flashing while personal matters are dealt with. I suppose that to cope with the problem it would require a hundredfold increase in the number of traffic wardens.
This indiscriminate parking on double yellow lines is also manifest outside schools, where a complete disregard and danger threatening situation is created. Yet, nothing seems to be done to eliminate this situation.
