A MOTHER and her three children subjected to a month-long terror campaign are to be re-housed thanks to the Lancashire Evening Telegraph.
Andrea Pointon, 28, had almost every window of her house smashed. Her living room was set on fire in an arson attack and she received dozens of death threats.
She left the house in Glenluce Crescent, Shadsworth, on police advice.
But she was devastated when the council told her she would have to return because there was "only minimal fire damage."
Andrea, who is in hiding with relatives, is to be re-housed after the Lancashire Evening Telegraph told the council exactly what had been happening. And the delighted mum hugged children, Shauna, nine, Andrew, five, and Christopher, eight, as she said: "Thanks very much. This is the best news ever."
The threats and attacks are believed to have been aimed at a man who had previously lived at the address.
Andrea added: "My life and my kids' lives have been a living hell.
"Every day a window was being smashed or we were receiving death threats. Then when the fire was started, police said we had to move out for our own safety.
"I couldn't believe it when the council said we had to move back in. There was no way I was going to do that.
"I'd rather have left Blackburn altogether than go back to that house.
"There's no doubt that if we had returned, we'd have ended up dead."
Police have confirmed that they are investigating a number of incidents at the address.
Blackburn Council spokesman Bill Howarth said: "We were not aware of the full details of the case. But now we are, we will be writing to the woman to inform her that we will be re-housing her."
