CONVEYOR belts and power transmission firm Fenner reports a leap in profits of 50 per cent.
The company, currently investing £2 million in its Blackburn site, announced pre-tax profits in the six months to September rose to £8.2 million. Turnover increased by 20 per cent to £126 million.
The investment at the Blackburn site, which employs more than 150, includes a 17,000ft extension to its warehouse.
The Whitebirk site serves the firm's 52 branches across the UK.
Chairman Colin Cooke said increased efficiency and profits in the group had contributed to the results.
"Following the rights issue last year, at which time the group set out an ambitious growth strategy, I am pleased to report further significant progress towards achieving our objectives," said Mr Cooke.
Shareholders' dividends will increase by 1.7p per share.
