DUTCH girl Mischa Stork is the first foreign student to arrive in Lancashire as part of an exchange initiative by Accrington and Rossendale College.
The 21-year-old international marketing studentis currently working in Blackburn's C&A store after she clinched the chance to take part in a six-week work experience course in the county, after the college she attends teamed up with Accrington and Rossendale College to set up a student exchange network.
And now Mischa, from Deventer, is getting hands-on experience on the sales floor - but the only problem is that she's forgot her English phrase book!
C&A store manager Mr Philip West was delighted to have Mischa on board as part of the team, and said: "We are very pleased to have her here and hope it will help with her studies. She will gain an insight into the busy retail business which will involve such things as working as a team."
He added: "But at the moment she has left her English phrase book at home, and is finding things a bit difficult until she receives it in the post from her mum!"
Mischa, who is staying in Blackburn and has already visited some of the local attractions, said: "I wanted experience to help with my international marketing studies and also to improve my English language. I'm really enjoying myself."
