GILL Lowe has the world at her feet.
For Gill, 27, of Charles Street, Leigh, is jetting out to Cincinatti, Ohio, to receive a special award from her company Senco Fasteners.
Gill, who works in the Warrington customer services department, admitted to being "overwhelmed" at the thought of the trip which has seen her chosen from more than 3,000 employees worldwide to pick up her title 'Senco Sentinel of Quality 1996'.
From the 3,000 only 250 were nominated for the title and of these just 25 were selected for further consideration, with Gill being interviewed by a senior management team from the company's European headquarters in Brussels, followed by a nerve-racking video-link 'face to face' interrogation by a selection team sitting in the company's headquarters in Cincinatti.
Gill, a former Bedford High School pupil, said: "I was very nervous and finally heard that I had been chosen when I received a special delivery letter from Senco in Cincinatti offering congratulations and saying that I had been chosen to go to America to receive the award. I still can't believe it!
"I haven't been to the USA before and I've been studying a big book about Cincinatti so I know something about the area. I am still very overwhelmed but delighted to have been chosen."
With just seven people chosen to receive the company's title, Gill is the only one to receive it from outside the USA.
Bachelor girl Gill will be accompanied by her mum Patricia and her supervisor Wilf Mann when they fly out for what will be a hectic week, including a company banquet.
And on her return on Thursday, she will have no time to rest for on Saturday she will be attending her sister's wedding on Saturday.
Gill added: "This will be one week I'll always remember!"
