WHEN Lillian Warburton suffered a brain haemorrhage at the age of 43 she thought her life would be in tatters.
But thanks to the amazing support she has received from friends, family and neighbours - including more than 100 cards from well-wishers - she is on the road to recovery.
Now Lillian, from Ainslie Road, Fulwood, wants to thank everyone for their kindness but realises that it would be a huge task to write to each person separately.
"I'm still very tired so I decided the only way to reach everyone was to put it in the Citizen," she said.
She was taken ill suddenly one evening in March this year and was rushed to hospital. It was discovered she had another, potentially fatal, aneurism in her brain which would have burst within months.
After that moment Lillian was swept away by offers of help. "My husband, Ian, took time of work and my daughter, who has a baby son, rushed up from Oxfordshire to look after me and run the house.
"My son, Ian, who is only 13, has been brilliant as have friends and neighbours and people at church.
"I have never been ill before and I was very down when I came out of hospital. But all the cards and flowers and the care I have been given helped me feel normal again - despite the Sinead O'Connor hair-cut," she laughed.
