THERE ain't no mountain high enough for Martin Douglas and Citizen readers when it comes to fund-raising! For the general manager of Blackburn Church Action is to climb 12 mountains in a week to raise vital cash for the charity.
And he is calling on generous readers to dig deep to support the charity which provides furniture for needy families.
Martin said: "We have always had a tremendous response from the Citizen when we have appealed for funds in the past. I hope they can help again."
Martin, his wife Tricia and friends Ken and Lavania Morris from Ribchester will start the climb in the Scottish Highlands on May 27.
The mountains, known as Munros, are all over 3,000 ft high and represent Martin's biggest challenge since he started climbing five years ago.
He said: "I have decided to mark the charity's first anniversary by getting out of the office and putting my best foot forward."
Anyone who can help with a donation should send cheques made payable to Blackburn Church Action, Cathedral Office, Cathedral Close, Blackburn BB1 5AA.
