For the team of green-fingered engineers from British Aerospace's, Samlesbury plant will give up their bank holiday for St Mary's Primary School in Mellor!
The project to clear a partly overgrown playing field was started by the school's Parent Teacher Association.
"It was a real state," said headteacher Eric Perry. "The PTA started it all off and I'm delighted that BAe offered to get involved - it will be of immense benefit to the children." The work will take eight BAe workers six days as part of their charity challenge, an annual programme to improve employees' skills and benefit the local community. Plant equipment has been donated by local firms.
"It's going to be a big job but I'm confident we can do it in time," said co-ordinator Tony Shorrock.
