WHEN Daniel Winrow was born 10 weeks prematurely and suffering from breathing problems, his parents were warned to prepare for the worst.
But not only did the little battler win his fight for life, now 16 years later he is due to leave school boasting a 100 per cent attendance record!
Daniel, from Cotswold Grove in Parr, has only another week of normal lessons to go at Parr High before concentrating on his GCSEs. And, incredibly he also managed to complete his infant and junior school programmes without missing a single day after managing to bypass all those common childhood illnesses.
Proud mum Christine told the Star: "We are really pleased for Daniel, it's an incredible achievement. He was born 10 weeks premature and was suffering from all sorts of problems with his lungs. We were told that he might not even live, so the fact that he not only pulled through but has hardly had a day's illness since is really wonderful and I am very proud of him."
Music lover Daniel is now aiming to get good results in his GCSEs and is hoping to gain a place at Carmel College to study English and music.
