Work will start later this month to improve the appearance of Bury's main cemetery.
The operation will. start with the levelling of the surface of graves in a large section of Plot L, but leisure services staff say the operation will not involve the major clearance or removal of stones which caused upset in the past.
Vases and other items may have to be put to one side to allow the work to be carried out, but none will be taken away.
The latest operation is part of the ongoing initiative to improve the general appearance at the cemetery as well as ensure easier low cost maintenance for the Local Authority.
The plans can be inspected at the Leisure Services headquarters in Textile Hall, Manchester Road, Bury, or at the Bury Cemetery in Manchester Road or at Bury Cemetery office in St. Peter's Road.
