A CARNIVAL fun day could result in the revival of Tyldesley's festival frolics.
Tyldesley Rugby Club's Well Street ground is the venue for the May 25 event with features including tug-o-war, quad racing, a funfair, morris dancing, a car boot sale, sideshows and stalls, refreshments and a bar.
And before the main event begins funfair organiser Henry Hill hopes to stage a procession along Elliott Street featuring scores of morris dancers headed by queen of the day Michelle Ellis.
Anyone interested in taking part in the tug-o-war or booking a stand in the car boot sale is asked to ring 01942 879229.
Event sponsor Mr Hill said: "We hope as many people as possible turn out. There will be something for everyone - a smashing day."
And rugby club secretary Howard Hughes added: "If it's successful perhaps the community response will be to reform the festival committee. It could spark the revival of the popular town festival and carnival parade."
