A TELEPHONE call from Rossendale MP David Trippier brought joy to nurses, doctors and patients at Rossendale General Hospital.
The hospital was threatened with closure when the regional health authority axed a £2 million plan to modernise the kitchens. But Mr Trippier, a staunch supporter of the hospital, said that the regional authority chairman had agreed to put the upgrading scheme back into the capital programme.
