CUSTOMS officers today launched a new weapon in the battle against East Lancashire drug smugglers - in the shape of a round-the-clock hotline.
Launching the scheme a senior officer appealed to the public: "You are our eyes and ears, we need you to track these evil people." He appealed especially to Asian people to be watchful as he said the majority of heroin in this country was smuggled in from India and Pakistan.
