A RECENT Labour election leaflet featured one of the many directional signposts erected about Blackburn town centre and the canal towpath.
The one pictured is sited on the town hall frontage and I note that the sign for Corporation Park is pointing the wrong way.
Apparently, every signpost has been tampered with, with at least one arm pointing the wrong way or removed by vandals. The one opposite the Fleece Inn, Penny Street, seems to have suffered more than most.
May I recommend the use of octagonal posts to prevent the arms being swivelled around.
As a sign of the times, might the Labour council publicity policy be extended to provide milti-lingual signposts for Asians - for are not all such notices equally necessary?
