MORE businesses in the North of England are planning to invest in major assets than anywhere else in the country, according to a report out today.
Almost two thirds of businesses in the region said they were planning to invest over the next three months.
The report indicates that this is the highest level since June, 1995.
But the latest Lombard Business Investment Survey also shows that economic confidence in the region is actually the lowest in the UK.
Poor Government policies, lack of business and lower consumer spending were to blame.
