SOCCER fans are flocking to Lancashire as tourist bosses prepare to net some of the financial spin-offs from the European Football Championships.
Thousands of supporters from Germany, Italy, the Czech Republic and Russia will be coming to the North West to watch their teams play at Anfield and Old Trafford.
Lancashire County Council has produced a Euro '96 Lancashire accommodation register to encourage supporters to stay in the county and enjoy its attractions between matches.
"We have had a fantastic response to the register with 12,000 copies now in circulation," said county council tourism sub-committee chairman Coun Roy Lewis.
"With the buoyant level of inquiries about Lancashire's facilities, the tourism industry will benefit considerably."
