TWO armed robbers, one dressed up as a woman, today escaped with £11,000 in a terrifying hold-up at a village bank.
Two women members of staff were threatened with a gun and then tied up soon after they opened Barclays Bank in King Street, Whalley, at 9.20am.
"It was a vicious assault on the staff, who were, luckily, unharmed but shaken and upset," said a Barclays press officer.
