BURNLEY veterans graced the Wembley turf yesterday with a 2-0 win over Liverpool vets.
The game took place before the FA Trophy final between Macclesfield and Northwich Victoria.
Midfielder Britton was outstanding but it was a classic run down the wing by Leighton James and a perfect cross that set up the opener for Steve Benn who powered his header into the net.
Burnley sealed victory in the second half when the Liverpool keeper fumbled the ball and Peter Mason was on hand to wrap things up.
