IS the schools witch-hunt (LET, May 6) which has been carried out by local branches of the Racial Equality Council legal, and if so why?
This organisation and its predecessor, the Race Relations Board, have gradually spread their sphere of influence to reach into many different aspects of life, always it would appear, with a unilateral bias.
Did they have any comments on Percy Street, Lomeshaye or Whitefield schools, etc?
Apart from other examples of their interference, locally, they have recently objected to identity cards, implied that the Nelson taxi inspection was racist and accused a local election pamphlet of racial bias.
Nationally, mainly due to their efforts, this is no longer a country allowing freedom of speech and expression and even the freedom of the Press has been greatly eroded.
It is time the whole organisation was disbanded.
