MAY I thank the electorate of Ewood for giving me the privilege of representing them on Blackburn Council?
I can assure those who voted for me and my colleague Coun Florence Oldfield, that with the other member of our team, Coun Maureen Bateson, we will strive to make Ewood a better and safer place to live in.
Our victory was achieved despite a last desperate attempt by the Liberal Democrats to use unacceptable propaganda materials in an abortive effort to snatch one of the vacant seats.
Their leaflet, delivered to every house in the ward, was a disgrace, containing information which was close to being libellous.
It is especially pleasing that, despite this and other underhand tricks, the electorate were not conned.
As a team, we may not always deliver everything voters want, but we do promise that we will always do our best.
