EMMERDALE's latest heart throb Mark Cameron was the star attraction at the Merrie England Festival held at Middleforth CE School last weekend.
He crowned Rose Queen Becky Tarling after officially opening the event which was staged to raise cash for St Leonard's Church in Penwortham. The cash raised is set to fund a new church hall and St Leonard's Rev Wilby was prepared to get not only his feet wet to help the appeal. He sat in the stocks and was pelted with wet sponges at a few pence a shot to bring in extra funds.
The event is thought to have raised £2,000 for the appeal which has a target of £260,000.
