A CONVOY of trucks and buses is set to take over Leyland this Sunday to commemorate the centenary of truck building in the town.
Owners of vans, trucks, buses, coaches and fire engines built in Leyland from the earliest days of road transport to modern times, have pledged to bring their vehicles on June 2.
Streets will be closed to normal traffic for the day to make way for displays of historic vehicles and open top buses running free services.
A special attraction will be the famous racing car in which the company's chief designer Parry Thomas was killed while attempting a land speed record on Pendine Sands in South Wales in 1927. It will be on display in the museum on King Street.
