A FORMER Darwen headteacher has died after a short illness. Gordon Wright, 53, was head at Moorland High School for four years. He left for Parklands High in Chorley six years ago.
He was taken into hospital last week with breathing difficulties. A cause of death has not yet been established.
Mary Wilson, chairman of governors at Parklands, said staff and pupils were stunned.
She said: "He had worked tirelessly for the good of the school and the wider community."
