WORKERS ran for their lives when a fireball swept through the workshop and offices at a garage. The multi-thousand pound blaze was at the converted mill premises of Skipper of Burnley, in East Avenue.
Two mechanics were working on a Vauxhall car when the petrol tank they were removing slipped and spilled petrol over the workshop floor.
An electric fire in nearby offices is thought to have ignited the fumes.
