MANUFACTURERS are reaping the benefits of a major exhibition

Firms from across the area are busy following up strong leads after taking part in SUBCON '96 on a stand managed by the East Lancashire Promotions Partnership.

"This kind of exhibition gives local companies the opportunity to show the high level of capabilities we have in East Lancashire," said Liz Demaison, ELPP marketing manager.

It was set up by the six district councils in East Lancashire to promote the area as a business location.

The eleven companies who took part in the event included precision engineers, toolmakers, and specialist machinery manufacturers.

Staff from one of the exhibitors, Dale Polymers of Huncoat, are now busy working on orders won from the event.

"We had 125 quality leads from SUBCON '96 and since the exhibition ended we have received orders from three new customers and are in negotiations with another eighteen," said Roger Haworth, managing director.

"I am confident that as a result of SUBCON our turnover will increase by at least 10 per cent over the next 12 months."

The other companies who took part in the event were Earby Light Engineers, Edlan Elekem, H P Inman & Co, Lynx Engineering, N R Automatics (Engineering), Nelson Metalcraft, M&G Plastics, Marbill Developments, Richard Millington & Co and Ouzledale Foundry.
