I SEE that the Labour Party's fortune teller Tim O'Kane, is at it again (Letters, April 13) - this time, trying to be an expert on something he appears to know little about.
If he and his party knew all about the BSE danger so long ago, why did it take so long for them to bring it to people's attention?
It must be perfectly obvious to everyone, with the exception of the seer from Clayton-le-Moors, that this BSE/CJD scare is little more than a socialist stunt - an attempt to force us into line over Europe, which will go down very well with their comrades abroad, who cannot wait to steal our markets.
While it is an awful disease, it is only one of many people meet during their lifetime, and the chances of being affected by it are about one in a million - far, far less than, for instance, Alzheimer's Disease, cancer, or meningitis.
Tim O'Kane and his cronies have yet to learn that stirred up hysteria solves little and is, quite often, self-defeating.
