A TEENAGER accused of raping young boys has been sent to live at a house in Burnley with two young children and only yards from a youth club.

Police say they were shocked by the move and relatives fear it has placed the boy aged four and three-year-old girl in danger.

The Keighley youth, now 17, awaiting trial on two rape charges and several offences of indecency, all against boys under 13, moved to a relative's home after a court placed him in the care of Bradford social services on condition he did not stay in the area.

His parents' home had come under attack with windows smashed and paint daubed on walls.

Social services later pulled him out of a house in Carlisle and on to Burnley after another allegation of indecency was made against him.

In Burnley the young children's father says he is convinced the teenager is innocent and is happy with him staying and playing with the kids.

But his father has expressed extreme concern and says the move has put his grandchildren at risk.

Lancashire County Social Services said: "We are aware of the situation and child protection procedures have been implemented."

The spokesman added that details of the action taken had to remain confidential.

Police said they were horrified when they heard of the move and were closely monitoring the situation.

"It is not a good situation," a spokesman added.
