A UNION has again called for a college principal to quit after its members voted in favour of the resignation call.
NATHFE held the workplace ballot after Blackburn College principal John Bolton said it did not represent the views of the majority of teaching staff.
The union said 145 members backed a call for Mr Bolton to quit with just 25 against. About 67 per cent of members took part in the ballot.
NATHFE is the biggest union at the college, representing 87 per cent of staff.
The row started when Mr Bolton announced a cut of 72 hours from college courses, meaning a loss of pay for some part-time staff of up to 25 per cent.
A NATHFE spokesperson said: "Just how Mr Bolton can still say that we do not represent the majority view is unbelievable.
"There has been no negotiation and we have constantly tried to arrange a meeting with governors, including the MP Jack Straw, but they do not even respond.
"Staff morale is at the lowest point ever."
Nobody at the college was available for comment.
