THE letters pages in most of our local newspapers give the impression that the world revolves around their own little towns and there is nothing else outside.
Yes, local happenings are important, but they should not exclude other subjects further away.
I have tried to remedy this myself by submitting letters on matters of interest I have come across in my travels through life, but to no avail.
Most have been rejected and replaced with ones on local issues.
There is a lot of world out there, and we should include it in our daily lives.

FOOTNOTE: It is not so long ago I was taken to task by a reader for carrying too many letters which did not deal with local topics. What do other readers feel? - Editor.
