HETTY Wainthropp, Whistle Down the Wind, Juliet Bravo, The Riff Raff Element, Preston Front - how many films and TV programmes can you name that have been shot in East Lancashire?

Officials at Lancashire Film and Television Office believe the region has a hidden wealth of potential film locations which have never been used.

And on Wednesday they are setting up an office in Blackburn to attract film producers to the region. If you have a possible film location to offer - from a grand country house, a humble terraced cottage, a dark satanic mill or beautiful scenic garden - staff at the new film office want to hear from you.

Details of the region will be kept on a database and sent out to all film and television companies to try to match their requirements to a setting in this area.

People with relevant film skills - cameramen, sound engineers, joiners, plasterers, hairdressers, make-up artists - or those who can provide support services, such as construction, accommodation, transport, catering, are also invited to get in touch.

The office will be open from Wednesday in the Daisyfield Business Centre, Appleby Street, Blackburn, and interested people can contact 01772 203020 for further details.
