A JEWELLED sword worth £15,000 was stolen from Burnley's Towneley Hall Art Gallery and Museum.
The thief climbed up to a first floor window, smashed the glass, bent bars and forced shutters before using a large stone to shatter a glass display cabinet.
Thousands of pounds was spent on installing electronic surveillance equipment including video cameras, following the theft of a Turner painting in 1988.
