FILMING has begun in Fleetwood for the new series of the hit BBC comedy series Common As Muck.
Actors Edward Woodward, Neil Dudgeon, Anthony Barclay, Stephen Lord and Roy Hudd are among cast members who will be visiting the town over the next few weeks.
Wyre's tourism team has been busy assisting the BBC with location ideas for the programme such as the pier, promenade, beach, bowling greens, Marine Hall and other attractions.
Locals can rub shoulders with the stars as they shop at the A1 discount store on Fleetwood's Lord Street and Fergussons the Jewellers at Cleveleys.
And the second series will include new faces such as Kathy Burke, June Whitfield, Frank Finlay, Saeed Jaffrey and Paul Shane.
Wyre's countryside, leisure and tourism officer, Tom Pridmore, said: "We are delighted that the BBC have chosen Fleetwood as a main location and hope that the Common As Muck series provides a boost for Fleetwood's tourism industry."
Location manager for the BBC, Andy Jackson, said: "We have been delighted with the response from the local tourism industry and are looking forward to our forthcoming visit to Fleetwood and the surrounding area."
The BBC will also be filming scenes at Cleveleys bus station, Blackpool Sea Life Centre, the Imperial Hotel and at a number of shops in Lytham St Annes and will be on the Fylde until June 11.
