GEOFFREY Smith is on the road to career success after completing a training course. Geoffrey, 21, joined the XTEND programme for school-leavers and became a technical apprentice with Lucas Automotive in Burnley. He spent a year completing a foundation engineering course before taking up a position as a trainee systems engineer.
Geoffrey, 21, of Accrington, said: "Lucas Automotive and XTEND gave me the opportunity to pursue a challenging and interesting career while getting professional jobs skills training.
"They have enabled me to achieve National Vocational Qualifications and to study for a degree in computer engineering."
