AS the sun burst out from behind the clouds, hundreds of colourful faces sprang to life, dancing through the streets for the annual Caribbean Carnival.
People of all races travelled from across the country for the 22th carnival in Preston, which was blessed by blazing sunshine and good vibrations.
Eights exotic floats led the procession with presentations by the local arm of the Jamaica National Association, the Caribbean Junior Section, Preston Community Arts and the Gujurat Society.
Music burst forth from the Head Frequency sound system float as the multi-cultural party set off from Deepdale football ground at around 1pm.
They paraded through the town centre and on to the Caribbean Club in Kent Street, Preston, where festivities carried on well into the night.
A few revellers got carried away when they moved on to Legends Night Club in Deepdale Road and four women were arrested after a fracas at the club.
Police inspector Tickle said: "The actual procession itself was fairly quiet. Four women were arrested for fighting in Legends and some police officers were injured in the brawl with cuts and bruises."
