LANCASHIRE firefighters went to Bosnia this week taking with them 100 sets of breathing apparatus and six fire engines.
The two-week exercise is part of Operation Florian 1996, an aid mission by the UK Fire Service Search and Rescue Team, which besides distributing vital equipment, also involves training local firemen and teaching rescue techniques.
County Councillor Mrs Louise Ellman said: "This work is the latest in a long series of humanitarian missions carried out by Lancashire Fire Brigade."
