CARPENTERS had to carry out emergency repairs on scores of chairs damaged by women overcome by Chippendale mania at Blackburn's King George's Hall.
By the end of the concerts, almost 14,000 East Lancashire women were set to have broken all records at the hall after packing in to see the 14-strong all-male American dance group. Management had to employ six security men and 16 stewards each night.
