FINAL tables in the Burtonwood Brewery NWC ARL show a season of what-might-have beens for local sides.
Parkside Golborne were bottom of Division One with just two wins.
Leigh Miners finished fourth in Division Two on seven wins.
Leigh East were bottom of Division Three (one win).
Hindley hit nine wins and a draw for fourth in Division Four, two ahead of Leigh Harriers (seven wins).
Golborne Millstone were bottom of Division Six (three wins).
Leigh Miners scored 10 wins for sixth in the Alliance Division One.
Meanwhile, centre Dean Cross has signed for Widnes. The 15-year-old Golborne High student, who plays for Golborne Parkside, was a top target for Rochdale Hornets.
But he finally settled on Naughton Park.
Six-footer Dean, who first played his rugby with Leigh Rangers and was a Lancashire star at U9s, is an all-rounder with good skills at soccer and badminton.
Widnes have also snapped up Chris Lee, a former BARLA U18s international stand-off who played for Leigh Miners.
