A GROUP of Tibetan folk dancers and musicians were so impressed with their last visit to Burnley that they're making a return journey.
The Spirit of Tibet have performed all over the world, but they say they received their warmest ever welcome when they came here last year.
Nurses at the local mental health hospital organised the first visit to raise money for Tibet's poor, and they're now busy preparing for the group's return on Monday, June 24.
Doreen Clegg, one of the nurses, told the Citizen: "The group were overjoyed with the welcome they received and the enthusiasm shown by people from the Burnley area.
"Last year we were worried that people might not be interested, but they certainly were. The performance at Burnley Mechanics was really a magical evening, and the one on June 25 should be just as good."
The Spirit of Tibet are a group of performers and monks who put on shows of traditional folk dancing and monastic chanting. The ancient, spectacular Black Hat Dance is always a big hit with audiences all over the world.
The dancers will sleep at Central Methodist Church hall in Burnley, and organisers are hoping people will help by putting up the monks for two nights.
On Wednesday, June 25, they will give a children's performance at Towneley High School, Burnley, before continuing with their tour of Britain.
