MAY I thank the staff of the Medical Assessment Unit at Blackburn Infirmary for their administrations to my mother during her final hours.
On behalf of my father, my sisters and myself, I should like to mention in particular Sister Newton, for her kindness to my youngest sister during the long hours of Saturday night, May 18.
We would also like to thank male nurse Nigel for his care. Most of all, I personally would like to thank nurse Una McCartney for the compassion she showed towards my father when he most needed it. Unfortunately, my mother died three days before their 63rd wedding anniversary.
Finally, to Fr Lavin and Blackburn Funeral Service, for the beautiful and moving service they provided at the Church of the Sacred Heart, Blackburn.
J YATES (Mr), Leopold Way, Blackburn.
