ASIAN parents send their children to Church of England aided schools because they recognise they are "of God". That was said today by the Bishop of Blackburn, speaking for the first time since a vicar who quit warned of a non-Christian takeover of his school.
In his presidential address to a meeting of the Diocesan Synod, the Rev Stewart Cross said parents had a right to withdraw their children from religious instruction.
