IWAS under the impression that the reason for building motorway links was to alleviate the volume of traffic at bottlenecks and in built-up areas.
Now, our eminent town councillors want to rubber-stamp a deal to site a haulage firm on the demolished Lower Darwen Paper Mill site.
It may be a good idea for them to hold the next town council meeting at the junction of Fore Street and Duchess Street and experience first-hand the problems that residents of Lower Darwen already experience daily - without them exacerbating the problem.
I sincerely hope that they never have to experience the problems that children and the older people have trying to cross a road already over-burdened with excess traffic.
