THE INTERNET pages of the Lancashire Evening Telegraph have led to a new computer systems firm in Burnley receiving an enquiry from California.
Crest Computer Systems operating from the Northbridge Centre, Elm Street, Burnley, was set up just a few months ago by Tony Keeble who advertises in the Lancashire Evening Telegraph.
Tony said: "One day recently I was checking my mail as usual and received an inquiry from someone in California who saw my ad in the classified section of the Evening Telegraph on the World Wide Web.
"This summer he is coming to Lancashire to visit his parents in the Blackburn area and is looking to buy a personal computer system so that they can send E-mail to each other. "They communicate on a regular basis and will be able to save on phone bills.''
Tony said he was surprised when his advert attracted attention from six thousand miles away.
Tony, 33, has been in computers since 1979 working in electronics engineering and computers before setting up his own company with the assistance of ELTEC and the Firm Base scheme which helped him put together a business plan and provided assistance with training.
Tony, who comes from Rossendale but now lives in Burnley, said: "Things are going well, I am happy with it, supplying tailor-made computer systems to suit home or business-user customer requirements, supplying Internet access and services like E-mail."
