IN the first World War, some soldiers were shot by firing squads. Their crime? Being overwhelmed with fear.
What about those who signed the orders for these executions? Were they not guilty of taking advantage of the weak?
Is there anyone in authority now with the courage to admit that this act was inhuman, and that no crime was ever committed?
Is it, as I suspect, that it would put future wars in jeopardy?
