HOLIDAYMAKERS have not been put off travelling to Majorca despite the recent meningitis outbreak.
East Lancashire travel agents say they have had no cancellations and bookings have not dropped since it was revealed two children died from the brain bug and two others were infected.
A spokeswoman for Going Places, King William Street, Blackburn, said: "We have had several calls from people wanting to know what the situation was.
"They just wanted reassurance the area is safe, and, of course, it is."
Shaun Walmsley, of Travel Lines, Ainsworth Street, Blackburn, said: "Unfortunately it's been blown up out of all proportion.
"We are regularly updated on destinations that are not safe for tourists and Majorca has not been mentioned once.
"We have had calls from a few people and we've just explained that it's only been a couple of isolated cases."
The Foreign Office and Department of Health have both said there is no greater risk of meningitis in Majorca than in Britain.
