DOUBLE lung transplant patient Robert Daly has been out of bed and ringing up friends just days after his marathon operation.
Robert, of Arran Avenue, Blackburn, who is 15 next week, rang from his bedside at Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital to say he was feeling fine after the operation.
He called Sister Judith Hornby at Queen's Park Hospital, Blackburn, who looked after him on his many visits for treatment for cystic fibrosis, and also phoned his godfather Les Smalley.
"He sounded very weak but was in good spirits," said Les.
"It is amazing that he has been able to get out of bed so soon after the transplant."
