WORSTHORNE village centre was transformed into an American Country Fair on Saturday complete with country and western music and line dancing.
The annual carnival is held to raise money for St John's Church and takes a different theme each year.
This time things certainly went with a swing with villagers and people from a wider area calling in at the events around the church and in the village square.
Attractions included pony rides, maggot racing, stalls, games, competitions, music and dancing and food from "Mum's Pantry''.
A fancy dress competition was judged by the Mayor and Mayoress of Burnley, Coun Peter Swainston and his sister-in-law, Sheila.
One of the organisers, Lynda Farrer, said it was hoped to rustle up a sizeable sum for the church funds, adding: "The weather has fortunately stayed fine and we have had good support from the village people.''
