CAR thieves have stolen a student's bag containing a year's college work.
Eighteen-year-old Simon Book of Mellor Brook was devastated when he realised that his red Puma bag had been taken from the boot of his Maestro.
He had parked on Blackburn shopping centre car park at about 8pm on Friday.
He returned at 10.30pm but did not realise the car had been broken into until the following morning.
Simon is taking an NVQ in joinery at Accrington and Rossendale College and has contacted Blackburn police in an effort to get the bag back.
"They got in by forcing the lock," said Simon's mother, Linda Book.
"They disconnected one of the radio speakers in the boot and it looked like they had tried to get it out.
"We think the thief might just throw the file away when they realise there's nothing valuable and we are hoping that someone may find it."
Anyone who can help Simon trace the file or his bag is asked to contact Caroline Sephton at the Evening Telegraph on 01254 678678.
