LUCAS Aerospace at Burnley won one of the largest contracts ever to go to the town.
The company announced it was taking a major share of a £1 billion-plus order for a new multi-launch rocket system for Nato.
The announcement meant the company could go ahead with a large factory extension at its Bancroft Road site on the Heasandford Industrial Estate. It was estimated that up to 250 new jobs could be created.
