EAST Lancashire shivered when overnight temperatures dropped to a little over zero - in June.
People found their cars covered in ice when temperatures plummeted to 0.6 degrees celsius - the lowest recorded in June since 1955.
Patients awaiting cataract operations were booked into the Dunkenhalgh Hotel, Clayton-le-Moors, before undergoing sight-restoring operations. The move was made to help speed up the NHS.
