YES it Hurt, Yes it Worked - the Tories' new slogan - has been blasted by Blackburn Liberal Democrat prospective Parliamentary candidate Steve Fenn who says the truth is very different.
Mr Fenn says the line should be changed to: "Yes it hurt, it hasn't worked; it's time for the Tories to go".
"Rarely has a Government shown itself so out of touch with reality," he claimed.
"For thousands of people in Blackburn, the Government's policies have left them without work and without adequate services.
"The recession has left them demoralised, insecure and with little confidence in their own and the nation's future.
"The Government's complacent slogan implies that the recession was planned for the good of the nation's economy.
"The truth is very different. The recession was the result of economic mismanagement by the Conservative Government.
"The hurt could have been avoided. Instead, people in all walks of life have been left to pick up the pieces."
